    Hi,
I know there is programs that can do this, unfortunately they really seem to lack stability on all my systems which seems to imply that perhaps its really nothing to do with me this time

The effect I am trying to create is that of having more than one video on the screen at a time. Possibly as many as 6. This is quite doable in Premiere however its not possible in Premiere when it crashes randomly and frequently.

Is there another means of accomplishing this? Preferably something free/open source.

    Thanks!

Vegas can do it without crashing - at least for me.

Simplest freeware solution is avisynth and it's stackhorizontal and stackvertical commands.
