    Would really appreciate anyone's advice on this...

    I followed instructions on this board to change the region coding on the above Loewe Xemix (purchased in Europe) and am now able to play U.S. DVDs. These are the instructions I followed:

    Region code hack posted by LORENZ, January 30 2004:
    The region code hack for Loewe Xemix works even for Loewe Xemix 5106 DO

    1. Turn the machine ON and remove any discs.
    2. When the display shows 'NO DISC'
    3. Enter 'Play', '159'.
    4. The display will change to show 11 dashes ('-----------').
    5. For region 1 enter the 12 digit code '005000128156',
    for region 2 enter the 12 digit code '002000128156'
    6. Press 'Play' and the screen will turn red and then reset.


    However, I am NOT able to now go back and watch foreign made flicks and am frozen out (get the region error message). In other words, the region 2 re-set above is not working. I also tried to get into the system per this board (equivalent of Philips 950) and follow the region-free instructions, but I am locked out completely.


    Thanks for any advice and I fear that I may have now prevented myself from watching most of my investment!

    3 ½ years later I encountered the same problem and only after finding myself blocked on RC1 code I read about you as well as about another unlucky guy in Germany. Thanks to the German site www.dvd-sucht.de I got the solution. Comes late but maybe will help at least other people.
    The bloody Regione Hack submitted here by LORENZ which is not working for switch back should be cancelled, because it’s dangerous!

    The TV screen will become BLUE during a short time to confirm that the mono board has been
    reprogrammed.
