i am trying to convert the pal 2.35:1 gone in 60 seconds with tmpgenc. i cannot preserve the aspect ratio. i want to keep the screen size as it is on the dvd. anyone help?what aspect ratios do i enter in settings? cheers

That let me guess, that the source is DVD. Open the vob in dvd2avi and preview. In the statistics window you will see the source aspect ratio (probably 16:9). Then you have to resize, I assume you want to watch it on a 4:3 TV, do you? I assume you use TMPG (do you?), source aspect ratio 16:9(advanced tab),video arrange method "full screen[keep aspect ratio], target aspect ratio 4:3 (video tab). That's the simpliest way. You will waste bitrate using this method and there are some more advanced ways, but at the beginning it is OK.
