I'm having a poblem trying to convert or even edit a .flv from a site a site I frequent (Escapist/Zero Punctuation.) Previously I use to download the .flv files and convert them to mp4 to put on my iPod to watch on the go when bored. About a month ago, the files are still .flv but I cannot modify them in any fashion. I have tried all tools (including SUPER) and nothing works.
Is there a new .flv protection/restriction that users can put on their content now? Is there any way to break it?
If this falls against the fair use policy I apologize and please remove. Since I could still save the link and view on my PC I didn't think it did.
Thank you

The FLV format was updated a short time ago. Many older tools will not work with the newer files. Part of the change is an update to h.264 encoded video but the container has been updated too. There is a newer FLV file splitter around somewhere.

thanks for the intel. I have't seem to find anything, does someone know where the new splitter is? or a tool that has been recently updated to handle the new files?

I was able to find an updated FLV splitter by following the links in one of these threads:
