This is very urgent.
I have one sony DV camera connected to the firewire port.
I want to:
- capture the video using WinDV
- stream the video to a server
The problem is that only one program can access the device at one time. Is there any hack around this?

Do you have a standard capture card in the pc? (not talking about the firewire card) Run the video out from the camera to the video in, on your capture card and stream it with that (most of the prepackaged software that comes with a capture card has some type of streaming utility). Then just capture normally with WinDV
