I found that when I record TV, my cheap Chinese TV card has a max file size of about 4.1gb (corresponding to about 1hr 54 min of mpeg2). When it reaches the limit, ( I am using ntfs file system) it starts a second new file and continues to record. I just want one file (not two files). There doesn't seem to be anything in the settings to change this behavior. I am wondering if there is anyway to solve this problem. It seems that the software designers figured that the 4.1 gb limit is good for burning to DVDs.

The name of the capture device and specifics ?
The limit is the software not the device, you need to find another compatible software package to remove this limit -
Yes bjs is right its software not hardware. Since you are using ntfs that is the only explanation.
What you can do is try something like virtualdub to capture. Or practically any other capture software. As long as it recognizes your card you should be able to record normally with the new softwared.

There are many freeware capture apps available.
However if your card doesn't cooperate with other software it could be time to consider a new card.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
