I have a Pioneer DV-434 and I just got a couple of VCD 2.0 that were made in Singapore. At the title screen (chapter select) screen, the audio is completly garbled. The video is fine. While playing the VCD the picture is fine and the audio is fine, except for a loud pop noise that happens about once every 20 seconds. It's incredible annoying and prevents me from turning up the volume to a decent listening level.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I would like to know if there is something wrong with my DVD player or if something is wrong with the VCD discs (I don't think it's the discs since they all do the same thing). Is there any way to fix this problem?
Does VCD 2.0 = SVCD?
