    Hi guys,

I have a DIVX video file (sample.divx) and it is a karaoke video file. It has both audio channels (one is music with vocal and one just music). Now how am I suppose to rip it into chapters and into .vob or mpeg? OR a solution is to turn off vocal during play and record it or something?

Does anyone know how to do this or any tools that helps? Thanks in adv.

You don't "rip" a divx file into a VOB or mpg, you encode it.

You really don't want a VOB file unless you are authoring for DVD. If you just want a file then you want to convert it to mpg.

However, if you just want to play the Divx file back with control over the audio channels, try using VLC or The KM Player. These will let you chose which audio track you play - if you have two audio tracks.

You may have only one audio track with vocals in one channel and music only in the other. This makes it more complex.

    To add to Gunslinger's post..

If you just want to play it, then all you need is Gunslinger's post and you're fine. For example, with VLC, all you need do is play the file, right-click anywhere in the screen, Audio -> Audio Track -> and choose either Track 1 or Track 2.

If you want it on DvD, which is the only reason you'd want it in a VOB, then you have some work.

You need to convert the video to MPEG-2.

If your audio streams are AC3, then you'll be fine. But if they're something like MP3, then you'll have to convert them to a DvD compliant audio format like AC3, MP2, or LPCM (I'd choose AC-3).

Tools you'd need are an MPEG-2 encoder, an AC-3 encoder, and a DvD authoring and burning app.

What exactly is your objective? A bit more info would help.

Ok. my objective is to have all the songs from divx karaoke into each individual chapter in .vob w/out vocal, just music and video.

What I have now is a karaoke file (sample.divx) with both vocal and music. One Flat file. When I play with VLC, I can turn on/off the vocal. However, this is not one song, it has 20 songs in it.

What I want to do is to somehow rip or capture this file into each individual chapters into .vob format and remove the vocal, just music and video.

What I think is that I need to play the file in non-vocal option and capture it from there? Any tools to do such task.?

    THanks for all your help.
