  1. Hi everybody....

I tried convert MPEG two channel audio(left & right channel) to RMVB. But can't play with two channel audio. I used any converter like xilisoft, apex, avs can't too.

How i can know this RMVB file is two channel audio or one channel audio?
What's converter/tools can convert VCD.DAT/MPEG two channel audio to RMVB two channel audio.

    thx

  2. You can use mediainfo to verify if audio is two channels

Easy RealMedia Producer (free) should be able to convert to .rmvb

For playback, install Real Alternative and use MPC or use SMPlayer

  8. Please describe the problem more:

    does it play at all?

do you even hear 1 channel? (mono)

do you see video at all?

do other file types (e.g. .mpg, .avi) play normally?

    did you try smplayer?

    exactly what is the problem?

Try playing this clip back (it's <1mb .rmvb); does it play ok on your system?

  10. I'm not sure if I understand you...2 channel is stereo

If the source input L and R channels are different, the .rmvb will be different

If they are the same, the output L and R channels for the .rmvb will be the same

poisondeathray - I think the original poster is trying to describe a typical Asian VCD with different languages in each channel. For example, Cantonese on the left and Mandarin on the right.

Almost nobody here converts to RM because it's a pretty bad and almost useless codec for most of us. I have no idea why your conversion isn't working correctly. Maybe there is a forum on the Real website where you can ask for help.

    Tried this one:

    http://www.aone-soft.com/mp4_video_converter.htm

I usually go the other way around, from RMVB to Xvid or Mpeg. If you're looking at a net posting, Xvid/Divx is a better way to go than Real Media which might be good for streaming media over the web or playback on a handheld device but playback on a TV is terrible, way below what I would normally watch....

Also, I have no idea if this will allow you to retain the two separate audio streams which I suspect is what you want to do. Most stuff I have seen with RMVB downloads were foreign films with one audio track and one subtitle track. Those can be played back easily. There was a reason that your video was in the format it was....so you could have the 2 channels of audio selectable. I think you may have to go and see if RMVB will allow you to have 2 selectable audio streams BEFORE you start encoding anything. The format may not support it....
