OKay i am not sure what is the name of that program that they put to make a file secure so i assume it is DRM????

    Here is how it is:

I need to subscribe to watch videos from this website, fair enough. Well once i am done with paying for subscription. Windows media player launches. Next minute before the video plays it will ask for my username, password etc etc. I have to do this for every single video i watch. Password, username.

I decide to d/l the vids to my pc turns out the security thing is inside the d/led file as well.

Is there anyway to remove it?

There are at least two steps to removing it. The first is by using search, which will bring you to fairuse4wm. If you are licensed to play the files, this will allow you to extract the video content.

HI i searched on it prior to posting this and found that program. The d/l link is dead.

I d/led an earlier version and the key on my pc is too new for the older version.

I do not understand what it is talking about but that's what it says.

OKay i finally got this fairuse porgram.

When i tried it on my d/led file it said it had no protected media.

Yet when i tried opening my vid file it said d/ling media usage rights.

This means that before i can watch the vid with wmv it connects to the net and asks for my username and password?????

There are several ways to pretect media. DRM as you noted above, which is keyed into the video files. And usage rights keys, which phone home for verification, which then unlocks the file. I don't think I've seen a way of removing this process.

    Phone home?????

    I dun understand.

OKay when i save this file on the pc. It has this media usage rights thing. So whatever program plays it like winamp, windows media, real etc before it can play the file will attempt to connect to the site. When it's done it will ask for my username and password. IF subscription has expired obviously it wun play.

I still cannot believe that there is no way to remove it????

Is there anyway to like record it in analog mode???? Say a music file has protection that cannot be removed u can still attach a wire jack into the ear phone and record it in analog mode or use a microphone and record the song from the speaker. That's what i actually did with 1 song. Yet this mode is seriously slow.

As I noted above, there are two ways to secure files. Phone home = the file connecting to the website to verify your l/p. There is no way of removing this process...at least none that I've seen, and not without being able to play the file.
