want to buy a Philips HDR3500 recorder but need to know if USB is Hi-speed

Hi,
I am interested in buying a Philips HDR3500 from Portugal, but I want to connect an external USB 3.5 HDD drive, and be able to play Divx from there.
Can someone tell me if the USB is Hi-speed (2.0) and if I can play DivX movies from this external media?

thank you wabjxo, but in fact you are not answering my question related to USB speed, I already had the manual and it does not clarify that subject. When Philips says "Only brands and models of digital cameras which support USB Mass Storage Device class standard are supported" it does not mean they do not work, so I wanted to have the experience of someone that owns the recorder and that tried to connect an USB powered external drive.
