    Members,

I've downloaded some music, and got some ".mp3" files that are NOT compatable with my burning software...aparently it is not "mp3" ...where and what can i use to open it up to, say, something like WAV or whatever ?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Most audio cd burning tools supports mp3 like the free Burrrn.

If it wont work then use mediainfo and open the mp3 and see what it says about the audio codec.

If you downloaded some music that you, ahem, may not have paid for, several things could happen.

    1) The original file could have gotten corrupted in it's trip through Bit Torrent or Usenet or Limewire or whatever. Without recovery files (almost never available for Bit Torrent or Limewire) you have no hope to fix it.
    2) The MPAA has been known to place bogus files on P2P servers just to waste the time of downloaders.
    3) The file could be used to infect your PC with a virus or worm.

  4. Right-click on the file and select Properties or use mediainfo ,make sure the file is a MP3 @16bit/44.1KHz.If the file is not 16bit/44.1KHz then you need to convert it with a program such as Goldwave or CDWave.
