    Some of those things don't really offer any protetion that you can't do yourself, they just provide insurance to cover any losses.

    Although, now that I think about it, I'm not exactly sure what kinds of losses one might have since the credit card company would have to eat anything fraudulently charged in your name by an identity thief anyway.
