I am a fairly content mac user (Pre-intel) and use Final Cut Pro 5.1 for editing while I am at home!

But when I travel I want to use my laptop PC to capture Mini DV video, then when I get home use FInal Cut Pro 5.1 to edit. (FCP likes .MOV files, and when using .AVI files, there is a lot of rendering time required)

of course, I'd really like to capture using PC, but capture as .MOV files, that would be easiest.

    Anybody have suggestions?

I am not outruling saving up for a mac laptop...

  2. I think FCP supports raw DV files. You can capture as such with our Windows-based software (see signature). Your laptop will be more than ample.
