I spent a good deal of the day yesterday trying to convert a new format WMV file to an MPG for viewing on a Tivo or alternatively to burn onto a DVD. I ran across something called "Any Video Converter" from http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/. It actually works! It uses mplayer and ffmpeg but manages to get all of the arguments right to create pretty good MPGs. It also seems to have a pretty slick user interface.

Now my question is whether there is a reason Any Video Converter or other products by ANVsoft Inc. are not listed here. Is there some something I don't know but that I should? Is there malware included or is the company shady or ??? Somehow it just doesn't make sense that there is NO listing here on videohelp.com and I figured there must be a good reason.
