I have installed ffdshow but I have also other applications like Powedvd 8, Canopus, Vegas, TMPGenc and I also give good use to freewares like Avidemux, Virtualdub and others yet in my experience I fail to set ffdshow correctly as it often conflicts with some of the above applications.
So I wonder if there is a good tut around as to where or what filters and VFW settings are best?
Thanks

to do what exactly? "I'll give you five dollars if you let me throw a rock at you"

If it's playback why are you throwing encoder names about?

Jeremy Duncan has a ffdshow setup guide he keeps tweaking at.

i've not read of that before.

 any other codecs flying about?
 possible clashes?

change to maybe a more stable ffdshow revision?

 may be something else.
try with a decoder other than ffdshow and see if it persists.

 also avidemux doesn't use ffdshow.
 so....
unless that was just a name drop.
it makes it more likely your problem is elsewhere."I'll give you five dollars if you let me throw a rock at you"
