Many of us legally purchase DVDs that are exclusive to a foreign country and have no domestic release. In order to view them, region hacks for our players can be a helpful alternative. That is not warez. Since you admit to occasionally burning copies of illegally downloaded material, don't expect any of us to be complicit in your crimes.

I did not see your original post, but I do sympathize with you. A few weeks ago I had a private exchange with a moderator about a post that I thought should not have been banned. For better or worse, VideoHelp has a rather loose definition of "warez". It's not one I necessarily agree with, but it's enforced rather rigidly. The MPAA and RIAA have basically forced their hand on this.
My suggestion to you would be to wait a few days if not a week and join the forums again under another name. Be very careful in how your phrase your posts. Posting that simply DVD-9 burning isn't working on your PC should be OK without you going into the details of what you are burning. Then again, some may ask "What you are burning?" You could also post that you have legally downloaded video content that you paid for that you wish to burn without getting into the specifics as to what that is. You could also post and state that you did NOT download any Hollywood movies and this has nothing to do with P2P sites.

Yes, Hollyweird may have been stupid enough to believe that it could never be defeated and thus copied discs could not be played in players for other regions, but the real purpose for region coding was to support the now almost obsolete practice of staggered movie releases throughout the world. In the early days of DVD, Hollyweird would release its latest blockbuster to us lucky US and Canadian people and then a few months later trickle it over to Western Europe where it would crawl its way around the globe and eventually reach Asia 6 months - 1 year later. The whole idea behind region coding was that Americans could thus buy DVDs that were "unplayable" (or so they hoped) in parts of the world where the movie had yet to be released, so there was no fear that, say, Japanese people would just buy the US DVD and watch it before the film had even hit their movie theaters. But the ability to rip and copy DVDs removed region coding, thankfully, and Hollyweird had no choice but to go to a more sane release schedule where most films come out at the same time everywhere.
But anyway, to get back to the original problem, look I sympathize with your concerns. I really do. I don't know what your original post said, but obviously some people took it to mean that you were downloading illegally and trying to burn that. I gave you a solution on how to get around that, so just keep it in mind for the future. And yes, bad discs can give you bad burns. For DL media we recommend ONLY Verbatim DVD+R DL discs and its really best to get the made in Singapore ones if you possibly can. Note too that DVD-R DL discs in my experience are difficult to burn correctly (ImgBurn can do it) and some players can't play them correctly.
