  1. Hey guys!

this is a total newbie question. I tried with partial success to convert ahcvd to ipod using vegas 8.... but it is renaming the files to 0001, 0002.... and it is not working and crashing by pretty powerful and well run WXP machine.

Can anyone tell me how to use anything to batch convert this files from avchd to something small for the web for example. I tried and tried.... it is just too complicated for my head on some of thse apps like virtualdub. any other ideas that are free?

I am converting video files from this cool powered paragliding trip we just did, crossing british columbia for 2000KM covering the pine beetle epidemic and forestry in general. www.aboveandbeyondcanada.com

    thanks everyone and still trying!

    hugs!

Or if you want an easier tool use voltaichd($30) and convert to avi and then convert it to another format.

Also try the Vimeo batch processor https://forum.videohelp.com/images/guides/p1814962/avchd_convert__vimeo_v7.zip . This will give you really nice looking 1280x720 MP4 h264 video from your files.

** Install Avisynth before you try any of these conversions**

Also, host your vids on Vimeo rather than Youtube. Vimeo has MUCH higher quality video.
