  1. Hi,

I need to buy a DVD-ROM player for my PC (here in the UK). Can anyone recommend a decent one or steer me clear from known troublesome ones?

I will need it for playing Multi Region DVD's and backing up my DVD's to SVCD perhaps.

    Cheers in advance

  3. .........ohhhh.....come on guys, 67 views and not one person can advise me on which DVD drive to buy for my PC. You must have some opinion!

    Heres my opinions on hardware:

Intel MoBo's: F@#king brilliant, I had a (I think Abit) MoBo with a VIA chipset and performance under Win 2k and XP was wank (dumping Ghost images was 50 MB/Min compared to 600Mb/min with Intel MoBo). Will never go for a VIA chipset ever again, sticking with Intel :)

Please help me out with which DVD drive to buy, I don't wanna buy another "lemon" ;)

  4. I can only suggest the pioneer 106s, as its what I use myself, it works well for me and its what I put in machines I build for friends, with no complaints, you should be able to pick it up for about £55 or an unlocked one for £67 www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk inc post and vat.
