    Got Toshiba SD120E dvd player, remote is Toshiba SE-R0049. Trying to change region code on DVD, tried the post submitted, but I am being thick, there is no M on remote to activate the hack, Help. Bought new dvd for daughter and cannot play it as it is region 1.

    I've never seen a remote control with an M on it. Those instructions sound odd to me.

    Do note that sometimes manufacturers change hardware and it does break hacks. If all else fails, it is possible to rip the DVD to your PC and re-burn it as a region free disc. Finally, note too that some region 1 DVDs will not play if the region of the DVD player is set to 0 (region free) and you must set the region to 1 to play these discs.
