I was downloading videos from a website and burning them onto dvd they were all AVI. file. A couple file work but then when I play the next one it would only play the sound not the video. I am pretty positive that all file were AVI. So any way I can fix this?

Also I went into the properties and go to "summaries" tab and compare the video that worked and video that didn't. The videos that the dvd player read have a video sample size of 24 bit and video that didnt work have 12bit. Some dont have video that didnt work dont have Video compression DivX

Gspot can tell you what format, video and audio, the file has. What program are you using for conversion?

ConvertXToDVD is a good choice for DVD conversion. It handles most formats. Or freeware, you could try FAVC or DVD Flick or others here: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/all-in-one-dvd-converters

    And welcome to our forums.

DVD players that play AVI files will only play videos that are encoded within a pretty narrow set of parameters. If yours falls outside this then it will not play correctly, and sometimes not at all. You can use AVIRecomp to re-encode the file to standalone specification.
