Just downloaded ffmpegX, for my osx leopard intel mac. Converting a avi (divX) to iPhone (mp4), just outputs a completely blank video file (white, no image or audio).

    Anyone any ideas?

Please post the Process Information log, accessible by clicking the blue "i" in the ffmpegX Progress window, so we know what was going on during the conversion attempt.

There should be more lines after that. This is only the start text. Are you sure it finished?

On another note: does the AVI play well in QuickTime Player? For this preset, ffmpegX will use QuickTime to read the source file, as default. If QuickTime Player has trouble playing the file, then the same may apply to this setting of QuickTime decoding by ffmpegX. Installing a 3rd party component like Perian/DivX®/3ivX will help QuickTime (and ffmpegX) read more types of movie files.

How long did you wait? Did the Progress bar get all the way to 100%, and then say "Finished" (or Done)? If what you posted was the complete log, then you didn't wait long enough. These conversions are not instantaneous, so if you were expecting them to be, then that could be part of the problem. Depending on your computer's speed, conversions can take longer than the duration of the source.

All good now, didn't realise it depended on QT.

    Cheers
