my system is a compaq 1720us laptop win XP
1 gig hz intel
256 ram
20 gig hdd
ati radon mobilty
1393 firewire port
ihave a 1394 adabtec 3 port card bus to go with my pyro drive kit and a 60 gig hard drive that i just use for vidio cap.i'm using stuido 7 whitch has worked well for me before on a different system.
The problem i'm having is that when i capture i can go (most of the time)about 54 to 55 min of cap with out a lost frame, then i get 120 frame drops per 1.20 sec of cap.i have been watching the cpu usage in task manager and it is steady between 18% and 25% untill the frames drop starts then it goes down to 2 to 3% and doesn't recover.
i have set the priorty to high (anything lower, frame drops start earlyer) and even to realtime with the same results.i have tried mainactor and it does worse can't tell how bad no fame counter.and of course windows movie maker dropps no mater what you do.
i have tried to shut down background stuff that was posted here (and my comp didn't like it to much) with the same results.
i have looked and the IRQ's are all on the same one, 9 and of course winxp will not let me change them through device manager and i don't know another way,if someone does please let me know.
the only other thing i can think of is that my studiodv 7 came with my comp, and it says i can upgrade to a full ver. for some money.i checked and it just enables some editing stuff that i can see unless ya'll know something i don't. any help or just some ideas would be great.
thanks boatman32
