  1. i am a newbie to dvd ripping and as i dont own any original dvds i thought i would experiment with my copy of shrek which is a dvd silver , the problem im getting is when viewing the vcd movie there seems to be a lot of horizontal lines where theres movement its like a venetian blind effect but only where the movement is , could this have anything to do with the fact its a dvd silver , for all i know it could be a dvd-r but i bought it as a silver but who knows .
do i have something ste wrong , i followed the guides but get this problem

I tried it 2 ways and both had same results . Anybody have an idea whats wrong here ?

  2. resizing to x240/288 should eliminate any overt interlacing & leave you with light ghosting. if you're noticing this on the dvd it is perfectly normal. to remove it from your output video entirely you need to inverse telecine or forced film/output progressive(dvd2avi/flaskmpeg respectively) if appropriate
