I have quite a frustrating problem trying to load certain videos into a video converter program. I am encoding videos using ATI MMC on the computer in my living room and trying to convert them on another computer in my basement. When I try and load the freshly encoded files into a converter such as Any Video Converter I get an error message:
I have tried several different encoding formats, .avi, .mpg, and using a few different converter programs such as Creative converter Xili-soft, and AutoGK, but they all seem to give some form of this error message (they will "load" in Xili-soft, but fail when encoding is started.)
The only time it seems to work is if I encode using the native ATI .vcr format and use the MMC library to export it to mpg, but I really don't want to convert twice! The kicker is they will all load into AVC or Creative converter and convert no sweat on the living room computer! Very frustrating! I loaded all manner of codecs on the basement PC, Divx and Xvid, etc. trying to duplicate the configuration of my living room PC to no avail. I could just continue to do all my conversions on the living room PC, but it bogs the system down to where you can't really do anything else with it (hence using a second PC for conversions.)
I should also note that when I check the files in Gspot on the basement PC, it can't determine anything about the files. Weird, just weird!
Any suggestions?
