  1. Hi,

I'm used to using Tmpgenc 2.5 in coding my Avi files to DVD format (MPEG2). I tried TMPGenc 4.0 since I'm getting a lot more video problems not reading their audio in 2.5. I tried out 4.0 and tried to copy my settings from 2.5 but it seems that I can't get to have my output file size lowered. You see, I'm used in 2.5 let's say my input would e 140 MB of Avi and the output would be around 280 MB of MPEG. But in 4.0, with the same settings in 2.5 my output bloated to 1.6 GB.

Can someone give me some tips with this?

    Thanks!

It's the video and audio bitrate that decides the output file size. Nothing else.

What is the runtime in your avi file? the source file size doesn't matter.
What video bitrate settings are you using in tmpgenc 2.5?

And I'm moving you to the video conversion forum as this is not a dvd authoring problem.

  3. The runtime that I have is around 22 to 23 minutes. I'm using the same audio and video bitrate as from 2.5 i.e. video of 7000 kb/s and audio of 192 kb/s. I tried that in 4.0 and it bloated to 1.6 Gb lol.
