Here's hoping someone can help guide me here. I have the Sanyo Xacti HD-1000, which records video in up to 1080i. I have made test Blu-ray discs with Toast 9 (I'm a Mac guy, which might limit my conversion options here), and have had no problems with video recorded at 720p. They record simply and beautifully.
But when I try to transfer 1080i files to Blu-ray disc, even though the clips play back just fine on the preview monitor within Toast 9, when I play back the finalized discs, all I get is black video, with the proper sound playing by itself. Is there any way around this? It's the same problem trying to edit on iMovie 8. 720 is fine but 1080 is out of the question. This is not a problem, though, with the 1080i video I record in AVCHD on my Panasonic camcorder.
Thanks for any advice in advance.
