When burning a 59 min sequence in Premiere Pro 2.0 to DVD at 7 Mbit CBR (PAL), it goes fine. The DVD plays well in all my standalones. But when using the same bitrate in Encore, burned discs do not play well. They stop in the middle many times and artifacts here and there. How to solve it?

Author the DVD (VIDEO_TS folder) to your computer's harddrive first. Then burn to disc using ImgBurn (freeware; listed under the Tools section of this website).

So is Encore known to burn badly? I couldn't find a way to reduce/adjust write speed in Encore. I am in the process of trying out ImgBurn like you said but needed to transcode anew first. Thanks for the tip.
