    Hi there!

I just registered in this forum, because I really (!) need help.
So, I recorded something absolutely important, and now I don't have the video file. Before I recorded this video, I already had finalized the dvd, then I un-finalized, and again finalized the dvd-rw.

The video that I need plays when I directly double click on the icon in "My computer", Windows Media Player opens up, and all I need to do is select the chapter of the recorded videos that I want to watch.
Besides playing on Media Player, it also plays on the camcorder, but when I explore the dvd, the file simply doesn't appear anywhere, although, the old videos from the previous finalization are there.

Those videoclips are all in a single file on the dvd, and when I try to copy the full file, I get a message error.

I need to have that video clip to convert it to another format and to edit it.

    Will somebody help me, please?

Your best hope would be to try to extract the disc contents using isobuster.

I just tried to extract the disc contents but I get a message error...
Is there any way to record the video through media player, since the video actually plays?

Screen Capture software such as camstudio, or camtasia. It might be helpful if I knew what the error message was.

OK, this is weird... I tried to watch the video with media player and it freezes. I think the file is corrupted.

And that screen capture software was actually being helpful, but when the clip freezes, it's just no good.

This is what I get from the error message:

    "Unreadable sector

It was impossible to read the sector 17280
    Error: 03/11/05

    RETRY
    SELECT an option and proceed
    or QUIT"

I get these options: hide sector, substitute all with zeros, substitute with dummy data.

    None of those work.

Have you tried cleaning the disc? The error message you describe usually accompanies a damaged disc. Have been able to test it on another PC?

So, I managed to watch the video on another PC and with camtasia I was able to record it. The only problem now is the low quality :/

With camtasia set it for "lossless" or "uncompressed"

Did you try transfering the files off the disc on the other PC?

    Hey!

I wasn't able to transfer the files, but I did manage to make a screen record with great quality, so it's all good.

Thanks a lot for your help!
