I feel kinda stupid here, but i just got my burner today. Been making vcds/svcds with nero now for awhile. Now what i'm doing is merging the 2 mpegs from the vcd/svcd and want to know what program i can burn this with onto the dvd-r.

  3. Nero does indeed burn to dvd-r / dvd-rw. but the question I am thinking is the vcd/ svcd merges, you are trying to get one big file correct so you no longer have to have a given movie spanned ove 2 cd's? you can merge and dump svcd onto a dvd, but you'll have to do some tinkering to get it to playback ( and and hope you dvd player suppports svcd playback ), check the guides in thew how to section.

  5. what template r u trying to burn from? are you in the dvd options of nero?
If you look on the top of where you tell it what template t use you have a drop down menu which gives the option of either burning to cd or dvd. if i remember correctly the most compatible setting is udf/iso (someone correct me if i'm wrong).

  6. from nero 5.5.3.5 on it has dvd support, when you run nero there is a menu option for cd and for dvd, in dvd you choose udf/iso for compatibility. from ythere you got the normal dvd menu albeit wuith a 4.7gb limit in the space section on the bottom as you drag n drop. Keep in mind once in dvd mode you cannot drag n drop mpeg 2 videos and expect playback on home dvd players, as nero does not do DVD Authoring, Spruce Up, Ulead DVD Factory do and will make the necessary VIDEO_TS directory with the IFO, BUP and VOB files needed for the burn, both will also burn as well and both wil also make dir structures of disk images for burn.
