  1. Looking for a way to handle video film from my DVD player so I can cut/edit in Apple's iMovie.
    Would highly appreciate tips on this issue!

    Mpeg-streamclip - output as DV in a mov container and work from that. It's not ideal, but for some reason Apple decided to knobble iMovie's ability to work with VOBs and/or mpeg-2, something I'm pretty sure earlier versions could do.

    If all you're wanting to do is cut out the parts you don't want then just use MPEG Streamclip to edit and don't export for use in iMovie. Instead choose Convert to MPEG when you're done editing in Streamclip and make a new video DVD from that MPEG with Toast.
