  1. My computer has a few viruses and I note that the "Hide protected operating system files Recommended" (under My computer>tools>folder options>view ) has disappeared. Also, if I choose "Show hidden files" and uncheck "Hide extensions", still I cannot see hidden files. When I reboot the computer, then "Do not show hidden files" is automatically checked again (against my will). I found the only way I can see (and delete) the hidden files, is to click on any Winwar archive and then I can browse for and see the hidden files. Also, my cpu usage is constantly at 100% (taskmanager.exe is running very high, even at idle). So I can't even watch a video because the cpu is running near 100% from some unknown reason. Given these symptoms, I wonder if anyone can tell me what kind of virus would cause these problems. So far, I was able to seemingly eliminate the problems by restoring by Ghost, but even the Ghost program would not start in Windows properly. I would just like to know what kind of virus could cause these symptoms. Also, I found a lot of pagefile.pif files on the hard drive and another file C:/Windows/system32/ Com/ Isass.exe
(among other mysterious files) that all disappeared when I restored with Ghost to seemingly normal operation. Before restoring with Ghost, I deleted the above mentioned mysterious files, but that did not improve the situation. I would sure like some idea what kind of virus would cause these symptoms.
