So, now i finally have a double layer dvd Writer and, in the past five years or so, when i manage to put my hands on double layer dvd's, i've had two choices(using my single layer dvd writer): Or, to shrink the content to fit on one dvd-r dvd (mostly, using dvd shrink, on reauthor mode, grabbing only the main movie and one audio, and then, shrinking), or, to split into 2 dvd-r... when i did this "split process"(using two dvd-r), i did, sometimes, in two ways: On, using dvd decrypter, and, if the double layer had (for an example) 30 chapters, i've ripped 15 chapters (m2v and ac3 files, demuxed, to work later, on dvd Maestro), and stored/backed up 15 chapters on one dvd-r, and the next 15 chapters on another dvd-r. Or, sometimes, i used the dvd shrink reauthor function, to split, in a moment (set start/end frames) of the movie, into two dvd-r dvd's... so, i watched half of the movie, on its original quality, and then, when it comes to an end, i have to change the disk, to see the remaining last part of the movie. Now, i simply don't know how can i "fuse" those files onto it's original source, as an entire/complete file. It is possible to do that? I have to re-encode, and mayve even loose quality? In my attempts to fuse those two dvd’s into one again, i used shrink reauthor mode to import the two halfs of those movies divided by the dvd shrink aforementioned process, but, i still have two separated films, but, or course, in one single dvd sized double layer (but, they are still two separate movies, you guys understand what i mean?)... the second part simply only plays after the first one finishes, but that's not what i want, i want the file originaly on its entirety again, like the original. In the dvd decrypter split process, i authored the m2v and ac3 files ripped by decrypter (using dvd maestro), but, "movie 1 plus movie 2, and movie 2 plays after movie 1, and stuff"(if i create a ISO image of this dvd, using dvd shrink, and generate a virtual drive with daemon tools, decrypter still shows two separate files), and bam, i've had the same result as the dvd shrink attempt to reunite the files an one single, as the original ones... btw, by doing those "split process" (be by the dvd shrink mode, or by the dvd decrypter mode) i destroyed/removed the original layer break of the double layer dvd’s, right? That's why i became afraid of record/burning my aformentioned "fusions" attempts... since they are still two parts, and not an entire integral as one(even if they are only one double layer dvd sized... i did not burn it), as it was originally, and, not to mention, to loose double layer dvd's, they are very expensive in my city. Someone can help me, please? And, even if i manage to "fuse" those files as one together (as it originally was) again, i'll have to create a new layer brake, in order to burn this double layer dvd's, or imgburn will still be able to find a "good" layer break option?
Thank you so much you guys!

DVDShrink, in theory, has a Join function that can do this. I found a guide on http://www.doom9.net on DVDShrink that tells how to do this, but Doom9 does not allow direct linking to their docs, so as stupid as it is, you will have to hunt for this doc yourself. There may be better ways to do this, but this is the only one I could find right now.
You can use PgcEdit to set break points in your combined DVD prior to editing. Here is one way to do it:
http://www.digital-digest.com/~blutach/pgcedit_guide/burning_with_pgcedit/burning_with...pgcedit_v2.htm -
You can try Mpeg Video Wizard DVD. It imports mpg file and encode only what is changed not original file. You can join your DVD there.
Than use ImgBurn to produce DVD-DL with option to choose layer brake. -
A: Use vobedit method to rejoin vobs back together in correct order
B: Reuse vobedit to demux m2v / ac3 from new output title from previous step
C: Use a suitable reauthoring tool to regenerate title ... ifoedit / muxman / rejig ... or other
D: Create a new folder on hard drive called ... mydvd
E: Create Audiot_ts and Video_ts folders inside that new folder
F: Move your newly generated title vobs, ifos, bups ... into video_ts
G: Run imgburn > mode > build
H: Add audio_ts and video_ts folders in the box under "source"
I: Hit "labels" tab and enter titles name into both ISO9660 and UDF
J: Now choose destination for iso to be stored , and give it a name again (location should be NTFS partition space only for DL)
K: Let it rip ... a box will pop up questioning layer break ... gold is good , but 50/50 is best choice
L: Once iso has been generated you go through the motions of burning that iso to dl ... when asked , select the mds file , not the iso
M: Burn no faster than 8x ... 4x if you care about longevity during storage of media
N: Enjoy
The issue is with internal vob id's being equal ... http://download.videohelp.com/jsoto/dvdtools.htm is where you'll find tools that can sort these problems out .
I would check both halfs of the title ... check there internal vob id's ... I bet dvdshrink rewrites the second title's internal vob id , which is the cause of the problem . -
