    I have a movie that is 700mb, its a Mpeg Layer 3 file, and I want to be able to watch it on a DVD player so what I did was I converted it with CovertXtoDVD but I get a problem that I never got before when I try to burn it and here it is:

    After I put a regular DVD+r or -r in the tray it tells me I need double layer dvd+r or dvd-r... does anyone know why that is? I used to always be able to burn the dvds on regular dvds... thank you for your help in advance.

  2. Settings => Encoding => Target Size DVD-5 (4400MB)

    I'm guessing you had it set on DVD-9 (8200MB)

  4. What version of convertxtodvd are you using?

    What software are you using to burn? convertxtodvd? nero or something else?

    Check the size of the Video_TS folder authored by convertxtodvd, how big is it?

  5. Sometimes the resulting video can come out larger than intended. It's probably oversized but I would guess it isn't insanely so.

    Software ? If you use the wrong software - something like NeroVision, for instance, it may try to re-encode your video and will make it larger int he process.

    Burning with the built-in engine ?

    Try burning with Imgburn. Use Build mode and select the Video_TS folder. Imgburn will take care of the rest.

    If it is too large, try encoding with FAVC instead, then burning with Imgburn.
