    Hi:
    I'm looking for a simple solution. How do I cut selected portions from a MPG file and store them as separate mpg files. I checked the forum .. know this type of qs has been addressed before .. but sorry! couldn't locate the right tool, preferably a Free one. Looking for a simple tool, not a fancy one. TIA.

    If you want to keep them mpeg then VideoRedo or Womble are the best (not free) or oyu can look at Mpeg2Cut2 (free) or Cuttermaran (also free - requires .net and demuxed footage)

    Do these programs just cut the videos without re-encoding them...?
