  1. I have a SONY TVR 330 Video Cam fitted with a widescreen lens. I tried to film an event using the widescreen option in the videocam and also using the widescreen lens but when i began to convert the film into VCD or other formats, the video was not in a widescreen. The video was instead in a normal screen format with a video of my fat brother looking quite slim.

    Why is this?? :( :(

  2. I don't know what software you use but I think you should check your options before encoding to VCD. For example: did you use the option "keep aspect ratio"? I think you should try that...

  3. I have the same problem with my DV cam. The solution is NOT to keep aspect ratio settings when encoding, because it just looks like 4:3 format. When encoding in TMPGENC you can specify the settings for the ratio. You choose "Custon settings" and calculate the settings. My guess is that if your original 4:3 video is 720x576, you should choose 720x405 to get the black bars you need (It should still remain 720x576 in the output settings).
