    Hello.

Is there a way to convert a color or a black & white image (or photo) in *.jpeg or *.bpm to sepia tone. This is the orangey - grey tone of the early photographs around the turn of the century - 1800s.

Is there a free software to do this?

    Thanks alot.

GIMP (freeware) has such a script, though I have never personally tried it. You can find it on the menu under Filters-->Decor-->Old Photo.

AviSynth's ColorYUV and MergeChroma commands can do it as well, if you already know some AviSynth.

Pretty much any graphics program can do this. Simply drop the saturation to zero, then alter the hue to suit.

In addition, IrfanView (an image viewer, but you can process/change/alter images with it) also has the feature in its Effects. Other image viewers might, too. Or, you can also find a number of free Photoshop filters to create the effect.
