In the past two weeks, the latest version of DVD Fab Platinum has burned coasters, but DVD Fab HD followed by Nero, always works. The latest DVD to exhibit this was "Chaos". This had the only error code, which was a "failure to burn."

I use Pioneer 114's, Verbatim DL blanks. Have even reduced burning to 2x, and uninstalled and reinstalled Platinum. I cannot make Platinum work.

When Platinum fails, I have also used the RipIt4Me, DVD Decryptor, FixVTS, etc., with excellent success.

Anyone have any idea why the latest Platinum (and the just released beta) are failing but the HD version does not fail ?

    Thank you.

Just guessing; in DVDFab Platinum, do you have all of the boxes checked under "protection", and is Pathplayer enabled ?

Thank you for your reply. YES-- everything is checked under protection, and PathPlayer is enabled "when necessary."

Should PathPlayer be "always" enabled ? Any harm in doing that ?

I see no harm in keeping it always activated, but I seriously doubt that switching from use when necessary to permanently activated would make any difference. You could try it and see if it cures the problem.

In the configuration scheme, look under write and set the burning engine to VSO Burning engine if it isn't already set that way, and you might play with the media size settings for DVD5 and DVD9. If you have the "verify disc after burning" box checked, uncheck it.

VSO was on, and verification was off.

    Any other recommendations ?

I saw that "fengtao" is on this board. Does he or she ever look at this part of the Forums ?

"fengtao" identifies himself/herself as the author of the DVDFab software and in an earlier post provides a link to (his/her) website www.dvdidle.com and Fengtao Software is, indeed, the parent company of DVDFab products. As for me, I'm pretty much out of ideas or suggestions. I have absolutely no problem ripping and burning any DVD I've yet tried with either Platinum or the freeware version, DVDFab HD Decrypter or with similar software such as 1clickdvdcopy5/DVD43, 1clickdvdcopypro/DVD43, CloneDVD2/AnyDVD HD, and Alcohol 120% with either DVD43 or AnyDVD HD; I wish I could have helped.
