hi everyone l have a dvd that will only play on my computer and l would like to know if there is a way to download it to my computer and the burn it using a compatible format for my dvd payer thanks

Yes.
It will take slightly more effort than using the search function and finding one of the dozens of illustrated and proven guides which demonstrate the procedure.
As for which one, most any should do, with no idea what exactly is causing the problem your guess is as good as mine.
