ffmpegX and PSP h.264

Hey guys,

I have a frustrating issue with h.264 videos on my PSP. There's no problem with them if they're in the MP_ROOT folder, but I'd like to keep them in VIDEO folder and be able to change the name so I can also store them on my HD and actually know what the content is without previewing it. Is there any way to do it? MPEG-4 encoded videos are just fine, same for h.264 videos ripped with Handbrake. The thing with Handbrake is, I use level=3 option. I've tried to use level 3.0 in ffmpegX but no success.

Is there any chance of playing h.264 from VIDEO folder?
I'm using 3.90 M33 PSP.

I know it's no big deal, but I'm curious. Should be possible if Handbrake encodes files which can be played from VIDEO, right?

The thing with Handbrake is, I use level=3 option

Maybe that option didn't do what you wanted it to do, as the correct syntax for AVC level 3.0 seems to be level=30.
Second, I've read somewhere that there is a different level requirement:

For H.264 Videos in the VIDEO folder, a verification on the encoding level has been added:
* For Baseline Profile (no B-frames, no CABAC) videos, Files reporting a level > 1.3 are rejected
* For Main Profile (B-frames and/or CABAC) videos, Files reporting a level > 2.1 are rejected

So try level 1.3 on your next test file, which works on both profiles at PSP supported frame sizes (width x height <= 76800 px) and framerates (23.976/25/29.97 <= 39.6 fps).

I tried it before both 1.3 and 2.1, doesn't change anything.
