With the first DVD-RAM disk I recorded the disk played ok for a few times and then it would not play and I would get the message "Disk is not formatted, would you like to format the disk?" The thing is the disk is full with cooking shows. Over 16 cooking shows are recorded and I deleted the shows that were on my comcast hard drive already. I think the disk developed this problem after I tried to play the disk on my computer. When Windows Media Player on my computer plays the disk it says the file has a .vro extension which the player does not have but the player may be able to play it.
The disk does play with WMP on my compueter but if I try to fast forward or have the disk continue to the next recorded section on the disk the Windows Media player freezes. So right now the disk at least plays on my computer DVD recorder partially but not on the Panasonic box. How can I add a .vro program to my Windows Media Player on the computer and does anyone know if there is anything I can do to have the Panasonic box play the disk?
I called Panasonic and they sent me a disk to run on the Panasonic recorder but this did not help me play the problem DVD-RAM disk on the Panasonic. Now everytime I put in a new blank DVD-RAM disk I am not allowed to format the disk straight away and a program comes on with a message that the box is going to run a program, shut off and then I can restart and then I can format the new blank disk.
