Sorry, need a lot more info before anyone can really help. Things like equipment you have (or are looking @ buying) and so forth.. -
OK So I am new to this!!
Sorry
I have a Q-see Q4DVR4CM 4 Channel Digital Video Recorder System , but want the info that it records onto DVD!
or if you have another idea that is better than using that I am open to ideas! The Q-See was given to me so I am not out any $.
I just need to know how I would take info from the DVR and put it onto the dvd? -
I'm assuming the DVR uses a hard drive to record to? If so, it should have a way to output it. Most now use a USB port for output. I just purchased a 4 channel DVR and it records in MJPEG format to a hard drive. That's easy enough to re-encode to MPEG-2 for a DVD. But that type of DVR can also be set to time lapse where it records one frame per second, or seven or 15, or 30. If you watch them back at regular DVD speeds of 29.97fps NTSC, it will be in fast motion with the lower speeds. If it records in real time, 29.97 or 30fps, no problem.
The specs listed for that unit are: 640 x 224 @ 30 fps Motion JPEG - DVR 380 Lines - Camera
That's pretty much the same as the unit I have, though it may include lower speeds. It uses USB 2.0 for output to a archive device. You can plug it into a computer and capture or transfer it to the computer hard drive. Most often I use a USB thumb drive and just take the scenes I want.
You should be able to go to the manufacturers site and download programs and a manual: http://www.q-see.com/ Look under 'Support' and you should see that model and what info or programs they have for it.
A simple program like SUPER can encode it to MPEG format. Or you should be able to open the files it Windows Movie Maker. If all four cameras are used, they may be set to show a split screen or alternate between cameras.
And welcome to our forums.
