  1. could anyone kindly tell me if it is posible to burn a VCD with say two music video clips (if possible with menu as well), and then the rest of the space is filled with just plain music (as on an audio CD). The reason is I'd like to have a disc with a music video, then after the video is finished, I would like it to play the music on the disc. It'll be better if I could do this on a stand alone player.

Also, is it possible to convert a MIDI file to wav? Can we burn MIDI as music CD?

  2. What you are asking can be easily done with Nero, just drag the 3 files, the 2 Video Clips and the WAV file, and use the menu option to add the Video Clips to a menu.

As for converting Midi to WAV, i know it is possible, but i do not remember the program that can do this, you need a program that uses Real Samples to play back the Midi and that will convert it to WAV at the highest quality.

  3. To convert MIDI to wave files, the best program I've found is Audio Compositor. It uses Sound Blaster sound fonts, so, the better the font, the better the sound.

  4. hi
just for your information: midi has nothing to do with actual sound. midi is just a way for synthesizers to communicate. you can't convert midi to wav, but you can send the midi info to the software synth on your soundcard. it will probably sound awful, because the soundcard will by default adress the midi channels as "General Midi". the composer of your midifile probably used completely different sounds when he/she "recorded" the song (midi file) in a sequencer such as 'loqic' or 'cubase'.

  5. Midi's can sound pretty great, but if you have a pathetic sound card which uses a synthesizer, I suggest you get a program like Timidity++, which will use real instrument samples (just like a SoundFont) and then the Midi will sound much richer and in higher quality.
