i want to burn a video that can play on a dvd player that supports switchable audio and subtitles. i cant find any software that support switchable audio and sub so can anyone point me in the right direction?

That's called: Video DVD!
The divx format (not the divx codec) also supports switchable subtitles and audio streams - but requires a DivX Ultra Certified player. The support for this "standard" is pretty slim (at least compared to the Video DVD standard).
TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 can create both formats.

First you have to author a dvd: Muxman, DVD Maestro, DVD-Lab Pro, Architect, etc. etc.
