I have a dvd with 4 separate episodes. I will rip them into single files (not split). I'll use VobBlanker to remove 1 episode I don't want.

Now, how can I add a different episode off another dvd into this first one. I want to keep the menu (edited of course to show the new ep). I'll use Photoshop for this and MenuEdit. Can I add the new vob with it's original .ifo and .bup. Will I need to use IfoEdit at some stage?

I don't want to encode and remux if I don't have to.

If the original disc is authored with separate titles then surely it will be simpler to just replace the title you don't want with one that you do ?

VobBlanker also allows you to replace one VOB with another. I have used this a few times when I have added subtitles to a DVD (for example, taken a Korean DVD missing English subs and added English subs to it) so that the original menus would still work. There are documents here on how to do this, but the basic process is to rip the original VOB into separate audio, video and subtitle files and mux the new subtitles back in with the original audio and video to produce a new VOB file that replaces the original VOB file. It might be possible to do what you propose this way, but you'll have to try it and see. For the best chance of success I would recommend ripping the one episode from the 2nd DVD as one big VOB file and not multiple VOB files.

This guide might be helpful. Check section 7.

As guns1inger says, instead of removing the one you don't want, just use the "Replace" button of VobBlanker to replace it with the one you do want. The one you want has to be authored as a DVD. When decrypting, you can use DVD Decrypter in IFO Mode to get the episode the way you'll need it for VobBlanker

PGCEdit is the tool to use - You can simply replace the title you do not want with another *.ifo+*.vob and/or the old menu with your new one - Just hilite the title or the menu (after loading the folder that holds the ripped DVD) and chose from the topbar /File or /Menu - the old title and /or menu will be backup'ed if you chose so.

If the old menu is a still image with buttons you can get the image from inside PgcEdit - just chose /Preview and save as bitmap (save also the the PGC commands for the title and Menu buttons for later import if needed).
