  1. Hi all
    I would like to buil a faster pc for ripping my dvd's, I currently have a p3 1gig with 512megs p133 on a Abit st6 raid two maxtor 7200 133ata drives
I would like to go with a AMD Xp 2000 with ddr ram. I am using dvd2svcd with CCE 2.5..here's my concern I have seen different views on the compatablity of CCE 2.5 and AMD processors some say you CCE won't work with AMD or you can but it won't encode the audio. although I belive DVD2SVCD has a seprate audio encoder anyway. so will DVD2VCD work with AMD?
    thanks

    Elsa Gladiac Geforce 2 Ultra
    VCore 2.15V
    Fortron 350W power

  3. northwood's r too expensive. also, RAM doesn't affect encoding time, so spend money on the CPU. athlon's give you the best performance for the money.

  4. Hi, vcdwizard. Would you show what steps or tool to overclock up to over 3 GH. Or just use the motherboard bios to make that happen. Is that ture? Since i am still thinking to get AMD or Intel, but this really give me a leap. should i get the intel that can overclock 3 GH. That's super fast even though yeah is really expensive money.
    thanks, skyocean

  5. I saw a reasonable Intel 2.0A GHz box at Bestbuy - isn't the 2.0A also a northwood? They have the system with 512KM/120G/DVD/CDRW for 1299.
