My friend gave me a DVD he had made of a children's performance. There is a song all the way through the performance in the background and there is a stupid graphic flower that has been added to the left side of the video. What can I use to get rid of both of these? I dont' want to ask him to redo it because I am afraid he will be offended. To each his own.

Unfortunately I'm afraid neither can be removed without ruining both audio and video.
It's not like the flower is in a separate layer or anything - it's an integral part of the image just as much as anything else you see in the picture.
The same goes for the audio - unless the music is in one channel only, which I doubt.

a man actually put a flower on it?
simply ask for a flowerless and songless version
and quit being wimpy
otherwise, you'll have to zoom in and lose quality
