MacroVision Disabled.....dvd or computer players?

I am wanting to copy all dvds i rent to dvd....What is the best but least expensive way to do so???
through the computer?? and if so what do i need??
or buy a dvd recorder?? i would like this to record shows as well...but whats the best way to do it?

please tell me which would be best and good for my budget?? and im sure i want the ATSC tuner what would be the model to buy??
