Hi,
does it exist somewhere some kind of picture or video to burn on a dvd that display on the tv screen the area lost by the overscan.
It's a real pain to build some menu with text on the bottom of the screen. Always cropped by some ways.
Thanks.

Most authoring tools and video editors have a Title Safe and Action Safe indicator that you can turn on. Keep your menu inside the Title safe area and will be visible on pretty much all TVs. There is no exact calculation simply because Overscan varies from TV to TV.

Hi - I did a search for "overscan test picture" and found this: http://feldoncentral.2150.com/HDNet/large/TestPattern_01.jpg
or this http://www.cinedrome.ch/hometheater/testpatterns/
You can load it as your video part in MuxMan or use it as a background for a menu. They are 720x480, ie. NTSC format so you must resize it yourself to PAL format: 720x576
Or you can use images from these sites: http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4868 or
http://www.tigerdave.com/test_patterns.htm
Chose image that match your TV (4:3 or 16:9)
regards Pol
