  2. You are using an older version, try updating to the most recent.

Do you have the preview enabled? Window => Video Preview checked?

Uninstall completely. Run CCleaner to clean up. Install the latest version of ConvertXtoDVD.

There is also a history of k-lite and other codec packs causing problems with ConvertXtoDVD.

It's a registry/temporary file etc clean up tool. Does a pretty good job. Run several passes to get everything though.

    1) convertxtodvd doesn't edit files, it encodes and authors a dvd - what are you trying to do??
    2) tivo files have an encryption key, apparently videoredo is the only program that can manipulate them
    3) convertxtodvd doesn't support tivo files, but from your log, somehow you got an .mpg file - how did you get this? perhaps drop it on gspot or mediainfo to find more info on the file

    ("C:\Documents and Settings\Ken\Desktop\TIVOBURN\Miami Vice - ''Payback'' (Recorded Mar 25, 2006, TVLAND).mpg")

    4) maybe try renaming your file without spaces or quotations "miamivice_payback.mpg"

  8. k just to clarify

by "edit" i mean just edit the presentation in terms of chapter markers and menu design - not the best word to describe i suppose
since my preview window is blank that makes both of those a real guessing game

also the .mpg that you see is what i was left with after "ripping it free" from the original tivo file with the DirectShowDump utility
